Evangelism Efforts of Our Church
With thanks to God for giving many open doors, Jordan HRC's Local EvangelismCommittee would like to share with you some of the work we are presently engaged in. We are always looking for new ways to spread the gospel in our neighbouring communities and welcome any input you may have.
CORNERSTONE BIBLE INSTITUTE
This is a ministry whose purpose is to evangelize, teach and disciple prisoners. Members of our congregation who participate in this program write to those in prison as well as mark Bible lessons which they have completed.
TRACT RACK
Tract racks in the foyer of the Heritage Reformed Church, Jordan Christian School, and at the Christian Book Corner are maintained by this committee.
OFF SHORE WORKERS MINISTRY
In order to welcome Spanish speaking off-shore workers who have come from Mexico to work in this area, we provide Sunday evening services, weekly Bible studies, English lessons, and monthly picnics (April – September). This ministry is a joint venture with Immanuel ORC (Orthodox Reformed) and Vineland FRC (Free Reformed) churches. Pastor Harry Bout is engaged seasonally in this work.
CONFERENCES
The Niagara Reformed Bible Conference is held annually on the last weekend of September. This is a combined effort with other local Reformed congregations. More information can be found at www.nrbc.ca
OUT OF THE COLD
Members of our congregation help in this ministry in downtown St. Catharines. This is a seasonal ministry (Oct – April) to feed and provide a place to sleep for those who require such assistance.
CHRISTIAN BOOK CORNER
Located at 1980 Highway 20 in Fonthill, this book store seeks to disseminate sound Christian literature. Proceeds from this are distributed to Jordan Christian School and various mission organizations.
But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. 1 Cor. 15:57-58.
